Derived from this archive's verified English and Chinese subtitle tracks
The VORTEX film record preserves performance, rehearsal, and live adjustment in one sequence. Its subtitles move from housing, transport, work, and the rules of love in a staged date to monologues about turning thirty, desire, assigned partners, and “uselessness,” entwining intimate relations with a function-driven social order.

•The dating scene tests compatibility through mortgages, an apartment, a bicycle, and income.
•The performance repeatedly asks whether love can ignore common ground and imposed rules.
•Passages about turning thirty and partner allocation place intimacy inside institutional management.
•Near the end, “uselessness” is posed directly against a function-first society.

ABOUT THE WORK
VORTEX emerged from approximately one month of collective creation. Bodies, loose pages, exposed speech, improvised movement, and the collapse of the performer-spectator boundary turn the site into an unstable event. In this film-version record, the underground garage is not a neutral backdrop: its lanes, columns, mirrors, and fluorescent light become part of the work.

SUBTITLES
Mandarin Chinese audio. Simplified Chinese and English subtitle tracks are included. The captions were prepared with machine-assisted transcription, conservative editorial correction, and bilingual translation. Off-axis or overlapping rehearsal speech is rendered conservatively where the recording is unclear.
