VIDEO DESCRIPTION
Published description
Someone says, “Let's call it a day.” The film keeps moving.
A corridor opens onto a street. A small group walks, hesitates and leaves the frame. A shopping complex shines above an empty route; a person lingers by the river. The return to an empty rehearsal room offers no final arrival.
THE NIGHT KEEPS WALKING is a 4-minute-47-second experimental short by He Fa / P4 Theater, made from original Human Surrender shooting rushes. Episode 04 of OTHER TIMES, a series of new films from the archive.
Inspired by Gilles Deleuze's time-image, this edit lets walking, waiting and the spaces between actions organize the experience. It does not present separate shooting days as one continuous night or invent a biographical story about the performers.
All picture and sound originate in the Human Surrender archive. Location recordings are deliberately reassigned across images; the brief Mandarin line heard over the title comes from another moment in the shoot. No new narration, music or generated movie footage was added. Chinese and English CC include the brief dialogue and selected sound cues; indistinct background speech is marked rather than invented.
