A fish tank. A missing cat. Two conflicting memories.
An accusation opens the story; a later confession changes how we understand it.
When the Water Runs Out is a fictional dramatic performance edited into a nonlinear psychological short film—not a documentary account of the performers' private lives.
Revised cut: three brief passages removed. This edit retains the existing sound revision for clearer location dialogue. It uses previously published material, not newly filmed footage.
Original Mandarin dialogue. Chinese and English subtitles are embedded in the picture and remain visible. To read Indonesian, select Bahasa Indonesia in the CC menu and leave it on. English or Chinese CC can be turned off if they duplicate the embedded text.
