He Yu raises a candle while He Fa reads in the same space. Gesture, speech, projections and the distance between performers and viewers develop their own rhythms.
This three-minute live-performance edit of Nobody's Return carries Chinese and English subtitles. The monologue moves through bodily traces, touch and misrecognition, screens and recording, before returning to a hand and the distance of “half a step”.
